The life of a blogger is not as glamorous as it sounds. Whenever I say I'm working, I'm actually not traveling or writing about travel.

It's clear they care about delivering a stellar experience to customers, without robbing them or pushing ladder-sale mechanisms and that's a company I can get behind. You think travel bloggers are traveling most of the times? Actually, it's wrong.

I'd highly recommend Mimestream, who did a great job of transitioning from Free Beta to Paid Subscription. It painted a picture that Zive no longer cared about providing a stellar experience for customers, and would throw them under the bus to push ladder subscription mechanisms any chance they got-which is incredibly annoying. To get the same access to basic features, such as multiple accounts or notifications categorization, you had to be on their highest tier plan which seemed really absurd to me.

The problem, honestly, is not that they added a subscription, which seems understandable giving the on-going costs of maintaining software these days, but that they paywalled features that customers had already paid for, into much, much higher tiers. Years later, they finally remembered their first app, and updated it with a lower subscription pricing, and then ultimately cancelled that as few months down the road as well, moving everyone to an even more expensive pricing tier. They chose to abandon those users entirely, and launched a separate app on subscriptions. I was one of their original users, and purchased multiple lifetime licenses. Zive, the company behind Kiwi, changed their prices without notice more than three times on users. Outside of Kiwi, you will need to configure a third party extension to open when a URL pattern matches. When I previously used to use Kiwi, this happened automatically if you opened a link inside of Kiwi. The Gmail app, although not the prettiest app, works exactly as the browser version, so I use that too.Īrc, Brave and Chrome work nicely as a Gmail/Drive suite too - Vivaldi just has some great tab and customisation options that I really like. Mimestream looks and works brilliantly though - adding Fantastical gives you the best of the best calendar (although I also have Google Calendar open on the side of Vivaldi’s Gmail, which is pretty handy for quickly seeing events along side my email). I also added a Keyboard Maestro shortcut to jump to my pinned Gmail tab. I recently added ‘OpenIn’ to make Vivaldi (or any browser) the native email client. I can also use profiles to have work/personal email accounts running.

With Vivaldi being Chromium based, if people emailed Google drive links, things worked fast (using Safari sometimes hit a few probs).

Mimestream is very nice, but it doesn’t allow snooze, and I can send large emails with an automatic drive link. I ended up using Vivaldi for Gmail and having the browser be the email suite. I’d been using Kiwi for ages, but they changed their price tiers and stopped Grammarly from working within the app, along with changing notifications from ‘primary’ to ‘all mail’ unless you moved up the price ladder - this just became annoying.
